Manor Mill Cottages, Bampton, Devon

Located on the edge of the picturesque North Devon town of Bampton, Mill Cottage and Leat Cottage offer a peaceful and comfortable retreat in this beautiful conservation area.

Set in over an acre of garden and water meadow, adjoining the river Batherm, the cottages offer an ideal self-catering base for walkers and nature lovers.  Conveniently located within walking distance of everything you may need, including wonderful bakery, butcher and greengrocer.  For those not wishing to cater, the town is home to award winning restaurants and cosy pubs.

Bampton is ideally located to easily explore the nature filled Exmoor National Park and the superb North Devon and Somerset coastline.  Also within an easy drive are a number of National Trust Properties.  For those seeking a more active holiday the area offers many opportunities.

The Cottages

MILL COTTAGE

Mill Cottage is a cosy, character cottage that is believed to be the former grain store of the 17th century miller's house, to which it is attached.  In the ground floor the cottage offers a comfortable, beamed lounge with dining area, a flatscreen TV and freeview, DVD player and Ipod docking station. There is also internet access. The fully fitted kitchen, adjoining the lounge is equiped with fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher and electric cooker. Also on this floor is a twin bedroom with en-suite facilities. There are also two delightful first floor bedrooms, with exposed beams, along with a fully fitted bathroom with shower over the bath. 

The property is centrally heated, with an electric fire in the lounge.  All bedlinen and towels are supplied.

 



LEAT COTTAGE

Leat Cottage is an upside down, one bedroom barn conversion, with the lounge on the first floor making the most of the wonderful views over the surrounding countryside.  This has a flatscreen TV with freeview and DVD player included. Internet access is available.

The cottage is accessed via a wrought iron staircase from the drive, leading directly into the lounge.  For users with impaired mobility, this cottage may not be appropriate.  There is also an internal staircase leading down to the en-suite bedroom and the fully equiped kitchen. This includes a fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher and electric cooker. 

The cottage is warmed by electric heating and the lounge has an electric woodburner.  All bedlinen and towels are provided.
